Always have at least one turret set to missile defense. SWLU is a mod for X3AP Litcubes Universe 1.7.2 built from the ground-up using ship assets from Mikhail Skatchkavs Star Wars Reborn Mod for X3AP. Litcube Universe is one of the latest total conversions of X3, and still gets balance and updates. This is how I would like a X3 game to be. IRE, MD, PAC are propably the best moneymaker SCHs in the game. For people who think X3AP is old and dead, just play X3 Litube Universe. Plutarch tractor beam system allows re-locating any asteroids in the universe, but costs some wares and may hinder your economy until you have SCHs producing those wares. I generally don't load freighters with weapons, but I'm pretty sure they all have rear turrets. You will need to know where you are going to put your SCHs at. I believe shields are automatically chosen from the freight bay. Weapons are loaded under the "advanced" ship menu sub-menu. I don't think the turrets will do anything without a command chosen. That is where you load commands for your ship's turrets. Under the ship menu, there is a command console. It also doesn't really cover anything that you need to know other than flying and shooting.
